Introduction of China World Trade Center

China World Trade Center (CWTC or affectionately known as China World), founded in February 1985, is a large joint venture approved by the Chinese State Council. It is jointly owned by China Shi Mao Investment Co., Ltd. and Kerry Industrial Co., Ltd. Located in the heart of Beijing’s Central Business District, CWTC consisting of offices, a shopping mall, apartments, exhibition and conference halls, and other world-class commercial facilities, is capital Beijing’s iconic building complex and the first choice for many multinational companies based in Beijing and one of the largest up-market commercial mixed-use developments in the world.

Since its opening on 30 August 1990, CWTC Phase 1, stretching over 440,000 square meters, has attracted an impressive number of prestigious multinational corporations and global high-end retail stores. Many domestic and international conferences and significant events have been held here. It has hosted numerous heads of state, government officials, business magnates and social celebrities, generating massive economic and social benefits.

After completion of CWTC Phase 2 in 1999, the floor area of CWTC reached 560,000 square meters. With further improved services and management, CWTC has since been regarded as the “bellwether” or “trendsetter” for Beijng’s high-end property market and hotel industry.

In June 2005, the development of CWTC Phase 3 Project opened a new chapter for China World Trade Center. The 540,000-square meter Phase 3 Project was developed in two stages. The 300,000-square meter Phase 3A, which was completed and commenced operation on 30th Aug 2010, showcases the 330-meter China World Tower A, It includes international grade A offices, the ultra-luxurious China World Summit Wing hotel and the extended north-west wing of the China World Mall in the podium building. Phase 3B commenced full operation on 9th August 2017, covering over 230,000 square meters. The 296-meter China World Tower B includes offices, Hotel Jen Beijing, and the extended north-east wing of the China World Mall in the podium building with more restaurants, retail stores and entertainment choices. To date, the entire China World complex occupies 17 hectares of land and a total floor area of 1,100,000 square meters: a truly world-class mixed-use development.
